Gate Towers
—Exhibition of Murals from Tomb of Prince Yide in the Tang Dynasty
11 February 2018 – 15 September 2018
the East Courtyard on the First Floor
The Gate Towers mural from the Tomb of Prince Yide, one of the most treasured artifacts in the collection of our museum, will be featured alongside eight other cultural relics selected by CCTV’s National Treasure program in an exhibition at the Palace Museum in Beijing on February 12th. To complement this event and provide visitors with an enriched experience, a dedicated exhibition of this national treasure will be open in the East Hall of our museum during the Spring Festival.
The exhibition revolves around a high-definition replica of the Gate Towers mural, accompanied by supplementary artifacts and state-of-the-art display facilities. This setup allows visitors to closely examine and appreciate the cultural and artistic significance of this masterpiece. Additionally, the original Gate Towers mural remains on display in the Gallery of Wall Painting Treasures of the Tang Dynasty of our museum, offering visitors the unique opportunity to view both the ancient and modern renditions of the mural side by side.
