Who Crafts It
—3D Technology in Cultural Relic Restoration
3 July 2018 – 31 August 2018
The restoration of cultural relics needs public attention and support. We look forward to the participation of all sectors of society who may introduce new materials and new techniques for the protection and restoration of the cultural relics.
This exhibition is the third session of the exhibition season on cultural relic restoration in our museum. It mainly displays the collection procedure of 3D information and model processing of cultural relics, allowing the public to have a close observation of the emerging 3D technology and its application in cultural relic protection and restoration.
In addition, this exhibition is planned to collaborate with NetEase in mid-August to hold a special exhibition on Minecraft and the restoration of cultural relics, named “Craftsmanship in Defining History”. It will include various thematic activities such as reproducing historical relics in computer games, online museums and open courses.
Note: The exhibition title “Who Crafts It” is a quote from a poem “Questions to Heaven” in the Elegies of Chu.
