Achievements of Shaanxi History Museum in the Reform and Opening-Up
In 1991, Shaanxi History Museum was opened as the first large-scale modern museum in China since the reform and opening-up. At that time, the museum was the only national-level museum in Northwest China and then had quickly become a prominent Chinese name card, enjoying a high reputation at home and abroad.
This exhibition displays more than 200 historical photos together with 40 charts and textual materials about the museum over the years, telling about our predecessor, preparation, construction, opening and development phases, and focusing on the achievements of the museum in the reform and opening-up. With over 1.71 million items, the museum has organized nearly 160 exhibitions and since 1991 and 5 of them have won the “National Top Ten Museum Exhibition Award”. It has also made abundant achievements in scientific research and international exchanges, as well as being a patriotic education base as an important platform for inheriting and carrying forward the spirit of the Chinese nation.
The exhibition consists of 10 parts: “the Founding of the Museum”, “the Opening of the Museum”, “the Vibrant Team, the Rich Collection”, “the Exquisite Display”, “Rich Achievements”, “the Patriotic Education Base”, “Unobtrusive Dedication”, “International Exchanges” and “the Colorful Life”. It vividly demonstrates the history and achievements of the Museum in the past 27 years since 1991.
