This is the sixth session of the exhibition series on cultural relic restoration in our museum since February 2018. The subject of this exhibition is bronzeware, one of the main categories of metal works.
The cultural selected relics for the exhibition are from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, the prosperous period in bronze ware development. They mainly showcase the investigation and analysis of the current status of the bronzeware, the scientific testing methods, and the procedure of the restoration, allowing the audience to have a close observation of the restoration work and bringing the protection and restoration closer to the public.
The exhibition has set up a hands-on area, where visitors can personally carve the traditional patterns of ancient Chinese bronze ware on the plaster molds prepared by the museum experts, participating in a simulated bronzeware-making process.
