World Heritage Photography Art Exhibition
12 October 2019 – 25 November 2019
Exhibition Room 7
World natural and cultural heritage is the common wealth of humanity. The Earth has created and nurtured myriad natural wonders as well as manifold miracles full of human wisdom. Their precious value in history, culture, art, and science is a gift and endowment bestowed upon us by the Earth and human civilization.
The exhibition, “Light and Shadow—World Heritage Photography Art Exhibition”, displays the photos taken by the renowned Japanese photographer Yoshio Fukui, who has long been dedicated to interviewing, photographing and promoting world heritage sites. This is Mr. Yoshio Fukui’s second collaboration with our museum, hoping to help the audience have a better understanding and recognition of natural and historical cultural heritages around the world through his lens.
Since China joined the World Heritage Convention Organization in 1985 up to July 6, 2019, a total of 55 projects have been included in the World Heritage List, including 33 world cultural heritage sites, 14 world natural heritage sites, 4 world cultural & natural heritage sites, and 4 world mixed heritage sites, making it the country with the most abundant world heritage resources on a par with Italy.
