Shaanxi History Museum
As one of the important birthplaces of the Chinese nation and civilization, Shaanxi has a remarkable history of anti-corruption and numerous historical celebrities of integrity, forming a profound and unique culture of clean governance.
This exhibition displays over a hundred precious objects collected from 29 cultural and museum institutions in the province, representing the elements of integrity in Shaanxi history. These objects include tablet inscriptions, door plaques, bronze ware, calligraphy and painting works. The exhibition consists of six sections: “Behaving with Decency”, “Living in honesty”, “Establishing morality”, “Being an Upright Official”, “Governing with Ritual and Law”, and “Passing Down the Virtues”. It showcases the system, culture, typical examples and practices of uprightness in ancient Shaanxi, representing the profound cultural heritage of clean governance and promoting the values of honesty and anti-corruption in government.
“We should think how and what we may learn from history. The purpose of holding this exhibition is not only to demonstrate integrity through cultural relics, but more importantly, to take history as a mirror, learn from the past and make the culture of clean governance deeply rooted in people’s hearts”, a leader from the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Provincial Supervisory Commission said.
