Shaanxi History Museum (Main Building)(No. 91 Xiaozhai Donglu, Xi’an, Shaanxi, P. R. China) has a maximum daily capacity of 12,000 visitors. Tickets are released 5 days in advance (for example, tickets for October 1 can be reserved on September 26), with the release time at 17:00 daily. Specific arrangements are as follows:

From May 6, 2026 to November 14, 2026: Due to equipment upgrades and renovations, some exhibition halls will be temporarily closed. The number of tickets will be dynamically adjusted according to the open area of the venue.

Opening hours: 8:30–19:00 (last entry at 18:00).

Tickets are valid only for the designated date and time. Tickets for the two museum sections are not interchangeable. Please strictly adhere to your reserved time slot for your visit. If you arrive outside the reserved time slot, you will not be able to enter. After a successful reservation, you must present the original valid ID used for the reservation for verification before entry. If the information does not match, entry will not be permitted.

Please visit the official WeChat account, enter the ticket reservation system, select the visit date and time slot, add visitor information, fill in and save your visit plan. After tickets are released, access the "Plan Inquiry" section, click the "Reserve" button to complete your reservation. You can check whether your reservation was successful under "Order Inquiry".

Reminder: We recommend filling out and saving your visit plan in advance. When tickets are released, click the "Reserve" button to make your reservation. Please note that merely submitting a visit plan does not complete the reservation. You must proceed with the reservation step during the ticket release time. Unsuccessful reservations will not grant entry to the museum.

Each visit plan can include up to 5 visitors. Each ID number is limited to reserving one admission ticket per day.

To facilitate ticket reservations, the system supports pre-filling and saving visit plans.

Successfully reserved visit plans will be converted into visit orders, while all other unscheduled plans will be automatically cleared at 24:00 daily.

Children aged 14 and under cannot make reservations alone and must be included in a reservation made by an adult. They must enter the museum together with the reserving adult after verification.

If you are unable to visit the museum due to changes in your schedule, you must cancel your ticket through the "Order Inquiry" section on the official reservation platform before the end of the check-in time for your reserved slot.

Failure to cancel on time will be recorded as a no-show. After a no-show, you will be unable to make any reservations for 180 calendar days from the date of the no-show.

(1)Children under 1.4 meters in height and under 6 years of age do not need a reservation and can visit for free when accompanied by an adult (one adult can bring up to two children. The adult must make a reservation online in advance).

(2)Senior citizens aged 65 and above can visit the museum without a reservation. They may enter by presenting their original valid ID for verification at the ticket check.

Among the special groups eligible for the above preferential policies, only seniors aged 65 and above can enter directly by swiping their ID cards. All other eligible individuals must present their original ID cards along with the corresponding valid original documents at the service counter to exchange for an admission pass before entry.

Special groups who do not carry their original valid documents must present their ID cards or identity certificates issued by a police station to exchange for an admission pass.

Our museum implements a real-name free reservation system for tickets. We have not authorized any third-party platforms, travel agencies, or individuals to sell tickets or provide bundled paid services. The only official channel for ticket reservations is the "Shaanxi History Museum" WeChat official account.

Merely submitting a visit plan does not complete the reservation. Please ensure to complete the reservation during the ticket release time. Unsuccessful reservations will not grant entry to the museum.

Please plan your trip carefully and arrive strictly within your reserved time slot. Entry will not be permitted if you arrive earlier or later than your reserved time.
